19 March 2019 - This past fall, The Ocean Cleanup Project, an ambitious endeavor to clean up our oceans by essentially creating an enormous sweeping net that collects ocean trash – launched to great fanfare and high hopes off the coast of San Francisco, to target the world’s largest ocean garbage dump known affectionately as The Great Garbage Patch.
For those of us that are passionate about cleaning up our oceans and preventing ocean plastic – and more importantly, for the much larger group of us who haven’t given the matter much thought – the Ocean Cleanup Project sounded too good to be true.
