Margot is an experienced professional in the areas of impact investment strategy, investment diligence, portfolio construction and risk management. She is the Chief Investment Officer for Philadelphia-based social impact venture SpringPoint Partners LLC, an initiative of Berwind Corporation.
She recently managed a consulting business and worked with institutional and philanthropic investors to craft investment strategies and diligence early-stage investments in private equity and debt with environmental, human capital, and place-based impact objectives.
Previously, Margot served as Chief Financial and Investment Officer to Closed Loop Partners, a fund manager focused on sustainable consumer goods and circular supply chains. Prior to that, Margot led strategy and innovation at Calvert Impact Capital, where she developed investment partnerships and portfolio strategies around innovative impact themes and goals, including environmental sustainability, place-based investing, small business growth and women’s empowerment.
Before entering the investment world, she worked in communications for Pathfinder International, an NGO specializing in women’s health in developing countries. She is on the investment committees of Calvert Impact Capital and Maycomb Capital’s Community Outcomes Fund. Margot earned her M.B.A. from University of California-Berkeley and a B.A. from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
